From the Heart

January 28, 2015

Life's unexpected twists and turns can shake up our world.

When I suffered a heart attack last summer, everything changed for me. I learned how little I knew about my own heart health and how little anyone really knows about women’s heart disease and heart attacks.

I’ve been in a physical rehab program that serves two purposes: one to improve and maintain good heart functions and to me – the patient - the confidence that I can have a good quality of life after a heart attack. This program has been essential to my recovery.

I am now committed to spreading the word about the unique nature of women’s heart health. I’ll include vital heart health information for women in every jewelry shipment. Plus I’ve launched the "From the Heart Collection by Nina Forrest," unique pieces featuring red stones that rest near the heart or near your pulse points as a reminder to be good to your heart.

To be the first to find out about these exclusive heart health pieces, please join my email list.

Even though heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women,
women often chalk up the symptoms to less life-threatening
conditions like acid reflux, the flu or normal aging.

If you make your purchase this week, you'll be ready for National Wear Red Day for women’s heart health awareness.

National Wear Red Day is held on the first Friday every February to raise awareness about heart disease being the No. 1 killer of women.

I hope you’ll help me spread the word about the importance of paying attention to our heart health.

What is YOUR heart story?

Making Rooms of One's Own

Before moving to Albuquerque over 16 years ago, I tried to pair down my belongings while still living in Atlanta, determined to make a "clean" start in my new home in the Southwest. I took bags and bags of things to local charities and disposed of tons of "stuff" collected over the years.
