I am a maker. Have been since age seven. Sewing, beading, textile printing, jewelry designing. You name it! I've collected materials, tools and techniques of every shape, size and use. Now I'm considering giving away some of my stash to art schools, other makers, etc. and am taking a second look at the items from my collection. They just may find a home with my gemstone beads and metals and. pearls and....... (Or is it that I just can't part with some things!)
Things like ribbons. When I Iived in New York I frequently visited the garment district. One of my favorite haunts was Mokuba ribbons on West 38th, importers of Japanese ribbon. Ribbon like you've never seen.
Years ago, I made the necklace shown above with Mokuba ribbon flowers. It sold quickly and then I went onto other jewelry projects. Now I'm thinking of revisiting the ribbons and the rest of my past finds.
Stay tuned! And sign up for my mailing list to hear about my new jewelry adventures.
